Agriculture Day News

The first meeting was last Friday and AG Day will be held on the 29th of October this year. AG Day combines all the best things from school gala days with the best things from calf club days and rolls them into an event for the whole community. It’s important to the PTA as the major fund raising event of the year. It’s important to the community as a fun event for the whole family. It’s important to the kids for the work they display and competitions they enter on the day.
Ideas And Volunteers: The outcome of the first meeting was to assign some roles, and to identify others that need to be filled. With respect to the fact not everyone is available for the meetings, but would still like to be masters of their own destiny, these newsletters will keep you abreast of the meetings, and give you the opportunity to volunteer for jobs you’re keen on, rather than be assigned them right before the event. Remember – volunteer now or be assigned later. We’re a small school, so no one gets a free ride... unless you’re very nice to Martin - the man with the quad bikes that is! And if you have a great idea you’d like to run with – let us know!

Over the next few months we’ll be asking for small donations of household/grocery items to help with making up Hampers, white elephant stall stuff, stuffed toys for prizes in the kids game stalls, eggs for the bacon and egg stall etc.  The kids will get house points for these, so anticipate a bit of nagging J.
For right now we need a small number of lambs to spit roast promised to us. If you can spare even one, it would be hugely appreciated!
All aboard the AG Day train everyone!   NEXT MEETING FRIDAY 9th SEPTEMBER 9am STAFF ROOM.
