Culture Day

Fantastic day today....sharing our Argentine knowledge, culture and food with everyone at Dairy Flat.

After singing the National Anthem, the whole school (representing many of the Rugby World Cup nations) paraded in national costume and colours, into the hall to share cultural knowledge with the rest of the school.

Room 8 shared meaty empanadas and sweet pasteles. Georgia and Tim did a great job telling each class some interesting facts about Argentina.

The Black Helicopter

When the black helicopter arrived at school it was like an enormous hurricane. Green and brown leaves flew everywhere. I saw the blue propeller wave 'round in circles like a whirlpool that spun like crazy!

I could see four men slide down a big, black rope that dropped to the ground like a whole bunch of snakes, with a kaplunk!

I felt excited because it was really fun seeing everything.

Cross Country

Dairy Flat School was excited about going to Long Bay for cross country on August 25th.
Year 3 had to wait for Year 1 and 2 to run their race.  Year 3 boys had to wait for a long time for the others to run.

Winter Holiday

Wednesday I went to noisy, cool Popstars

Nanny and Nana came to spicy, Indian dinner
Thursday was my exciting, enjoyable birthday

Trip with the Asia Foundation to Singapore

I was fortunate to be included in the Singapore Principal’s forum. It was an amazing experience to see the education system of another country first hand. We experienced another culture and gained some insight into the history and heritage of Singapore.

winter holiday

We went to the big tall sky tower on Thursday.
In the huge sky tower there was a guy bungy jumping off the top.
Nobody that was watching wanted to watch any more bungy jumping skydivers
There was a black enormous café that we went to.
Everyone was very thirsty because it was as hot as Wairwera hot pools.

Winter Holiday

We went to the bright big movie screen .
In the long holiday I went to the big museum.
Next I went to my aunties house.
Then I went to see a big long helicopter.
“Exciting”, goes my big tall dad in my bedroom.
Recorded my big drums on my small mp4.

Confident Kids

Confident kids means standing straight always.

If you stand up straight you won’t get bullied.

It means be happy and be strong inside.

You have to stay about one meter away from the person who is asking you something, so they can’t grab you. Constable Dave said, “If anyone holds your hand you have to snatch your hand away without them noticing”.

Confident Kids

Being a confident kid and being strong inside you will not be bullied.

Confident kids can break out of peoples’ grip by swinging their arm up or down. Confident kids sit up tall. Confident kids are not down in the dumps. Confident kids know to stay a metre away from a car or the person can grab you.
