Cross Country

Dairy Flat School was excited about going to Long Bay for cross country on August 25th.
Year 3 had to wait for Year 1 and 2 to run their race.  Year 3 boys had to wait for a long time for the others to run.
Finally, we are at the start line. Mr Van Dam claps the wooden blocks. We go to one of the parents on the track told us to go left. Everyone was pushing in front of everyone else. We were nearly at the finish. Tim and Jaylen were catching up to me. I was going up a big hill but there were more hills in front of me. I over took a big kid and Teagan! But Teagan over took me again and I could see the finish line! I ran like an All Black and the parents were cheering for me!
I had finished the race. I had come fourth. At last I had could have a big sausage sizzle. After that I played with Flynn.
I felt happy that I hadn’t fallen over.
