Culture Day

Fantastic day today....sharing our Argentine knowledge, culture and food with everyone at Dairy Flat.

After singing the National Anthem, the whole school (representing many of the Rugby World Cup nations) paraded in national costume and colours, into the hall to share cultural knowledge with the rest of the school.

Room 8 shared meaty empanadas and sweet pasteles. Georgia and Tim did a great job telling each class some interesting facts about Argentina.

We all got the chance to taste maple syrup from Canada, rice balls and wasabi peas from Japan, Russian fudge, pizza from Italy, wild animal biscuits from South Africa and an amazing assortment of pastries from France. Among other things, we played petanque, sang an Italian song and tried out our Japanese knowledge on the computers with Room 1.

After lunch we had a fun time trying out lots of rugby activities led by the Room 1 students. The balls spun, the sun shone...it was a great way to complete our Rugby World Cup Cultural experience.
