PTA Thanks to all the parents who helped out on Athletics Day. We fulfilled over 190 lunch orders and sold lots of food and drinks, raising over $1000. Thank you all for your support.
Special thanks to Telos Group who have sponsored the sausages for sausage sizzle in Term 4. All funds raised from sausage sizzle go directly to our wonderful teachers who use the money to fund classroom resources for our children.
Disco will be held on Friday 29th November 5.30-7.30pm in the school hall. Christmas theme – so dress up Christmassy. $5 entry includes a sausage sizzle. Other food and drink items will be available for purchase. Looking forward to a great night!
Foodbank donations: Hibiscus Coast Community House’s Foodbank in Orewa desperately need donations as their shelves are more or less empty coming upto Christmas. They need basic food items including tea, coffee, breakfast cereals such as Weetbix and Cornflakes, spreads, biscuits and crackers. A box will be in the school office from Friday 22nd November through to Friday 29th November. Donations will be delivered to the foodbank on Friday 29th November. If you can, please support this worthy cause.
On Monday 18th to Friday 22nd of November, week 6, Dairy Flat school will be having an Environment week where we learn about caring for nature. There will be a garden sale all week at the red line by the hall from 8.15 to 9.00 each morning. At the garden sale we will be selling vegetable seedlings, flowers and succulents. There will also be horse manure and compost for sale.
There will be planting at morning tea after eating, outside Room 9. There will be a charge of $1 if you want to take your plant home.
All money raised will go towards repairing the school greenhouse.
A donation box will be outside the hall all week for any garden supplies you are willing to donate. Please do not put any broken or damaged items in the donation box as it is not a dump zone. If you have any bigger items to donate please visit the office.
Last issue for the year so get those orders rolling in! Christmas is fast approaching, providing an ideal opportunity to give the gift of reading! All orders must be in by Tuesday 26 November at 9am. Cash and cheque orders to the office – please write ‘gift’ if you don’t want your order delivered to your child’s class. Likewise, if ordering gifts online, please check the ‘gift’ box. Those ordering gifts will be notified when the order arrives so you can collect from the school office. Cheques must be made out to Scholastic New Zealand.
